The kiteboarding event was held in Los Barriles, Baja California Sur in january 2015. The competition brought kiters from all over the world together. Lord of the Wind is organized by The Rotary Club of Los Barriles Cabo Este, which has the goal to support the local community.

The event had four kite styles: slalom racing, course racing, big air contest and freestyle. Lord of the Wind 2015 had the honor to have Robbie Dean as organizer, he is the Director of Racing for St Francis Yacht Club and member of the IKA and AKA.
